Soldano are pretty popular
amps today, but it took a while for Michael Soldano to get his amps into
the world. Mike built his first amp in 1980 with the help of Doug
Roberts. After much trying to get the new 100W Super Lead Overdrive amp
on the market, he finally broke through in 1987 after word spread about
Soldano amps. Such notables purchased amps the following year including
Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler. The 100W Super Lead Overdrive is the
flagship model in the line and is said to be Paul Reed Smith’s favorite
amp (besides the Fender Super Reverb’s). For lead guitar it doesn’t get
much better than this.
